Playing Paperdolls

I loooove dressing up for work.  I think dressing yourself is a piece of art in and of itself.  The traditional blazer wrapped over a dress is so professional and girly!  I mostly wear skirts or dresses instead of dress pants so this is a fun way to mix up work and play. Add a colorful belt around the blazer to pull the look together and pin on a fun flower brooch, step into gold heels and you'll be workin it all day long!

Starstruck!

She's gorgeous, talented and humble beyond words.  I'm always starstruck by Keri Russell.  Growing up I admired her on the All New Mickey Mouse Club, where she bounced around with her her big curly locks and 80's hip style.

I've watched the Felicity series at least 8 times through and love, love her in August Rush, The Magic of Ordinary Days and Waitress....Check her out in her newest sitcom, Running Wilde.

EMERALD & SHRIMP

This years long sleeve, form fitting gowns made me want to get all dolled up!

It looks like we're going back in time with the styles but amping up the color palette a bit!

Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathaway and Leighton Meester (first 3) looked absolutely stunning and chic with this new silhouette style.

Much more sophisticated and conservative than what we've had in the past.  Shows that a woman can still look amazing without showing her cleavage.  Just what the hollywood scene needs these days!

what do I collect?

If you know me personally, or for at least an hour at that, you learn quickly that I LOVE, am passionately obsessed and am beyond intrigued with copper. Not just limited to copper, per say, but all forms that I characterize as copper: bronze, rose gold, rust. 

For this post, I specially collaged some of my favorite copper finds!

I am smitten by the rare and unique brilliance of the precious (ductile) metal. I've collected so many copper treasures through the years and plan on continuing my collection for many more. I've even started my copper pot and pan collection. You have to get a piece at a time because of how expensive it can be, hence the head start.  If I spot copper ANYWHERE I'm hovered all over the object!  

Four years ago it was almost impossible to find anything made of copper. I'm not a huge fan of the twisted metal jewelry, which was all I could find out there. Last year finally got some braincells and made it popular. You can imagine how my life changed after that! 

You can also find copper in jewelry, house-ware, decorations, makeup, clothes, shoes..the list is endless! 

And my family already knows to start saving up for this one!!

New Years Resolution

This is in memory of a dear friend of mine who passed away.  One who had contagious smile, a generous heart, an unforgettable humor and an uplifting spirit.  Sam was a great friend who I would mostly vent to about life's struggles and fun memories we had together, and although I didn't see him enough to make most people think it would have such an effect on me , he left such a remarkable impression on me and the kind of love I will always cherish for my dear sweet friend. Miss you Always, Sam <3


Makes us realize we are never promised tomorrow and to live the best lives we can and never take those we hold so dear to our hearts for granted. This year I resolve to make more of a difference and cherish the moments I have with my loved ones and the blessings God has given.

My Firstborn-pup turned 8!!

Sunday the 14th was my Josie girls 8th birthday!!  I'm so sad I couldn't spend it with her in NC.  If you've ever watched Marley and Me, (if you haven't you should) you will understand the unique, crazy filled life of a rambunctious lab. (in my case, a sharpei-lab) Josie has always been the first to stand up for her family and will outrun all your dogs at the first glance of a squirrel. I bet your furry friends won't go find a turtle in the woods on command, either!  Josie is a one-and-only best friend for life.  No matter how many times we've had to yell at her for running off to greet the neighbors, (who walk around with large sticks near our house), she melts your heart even at the pounce of those scratchy paws on momma's hard wood floors. Daddy loves her deep down in his heart. (although he will never admit it to anyone!) She respects him more than anyone for it. She loves a good drink from the bathroom sink with her paws perched on the counter, her curly tail wagging. She rarely misses her prayer before she gobbles up every last bit of food after the "Amen!" And puts her head down on your lap to show off before she gets a treat. She's a strong, independent lady with a deep, courageous bark. But you've got her smiling the most when she gets to go for a ride in the front seat of your car with her head hanging out. (what dog doesn't love that?) So even though "Marley" comes out in Josie at times, she has the heart that forgives you over and over when you take out your bad days and moodiness on her. Her love and faithfulness is beyond words can describe. And she'll always be my first love.

What Day is Today?

Friday is a day to shop!!  Or so it is in Palm Beach!!  I have the opportunity to take a suit, a shirt and an eye-catchy tie for a man and turn it into what I see as art!  Being surrounded by mens clothing everyday at this time in my life has opened my eyes to fashion trends in the male world.  Not to mention the romancing of the garment and persuasion to see beneath the surface of just an ordinary outfit has such an effect on a guy.  If you make him feel confident in what he is wearing, he will wear it proudly and show his wife or girlfriend what a difference it makes to come out looking made up once in a while (instead of sporting the same old mud or spaghetti stained t-shirt and those jeans he just can't live without rocking at least six or so holes ripped at the seams!)  I love a guy in sweats just as much as the next, but every once in a while I like to see the effort he puts into dressing up for dinner or going out to Sunday service.  At Nordstrom, I help your men do just that! (You'll thank me, later! ;)

The Sunny South

There's a new view..a new outlook..a new perspective..a new scene..a new life..

This new life happens upon Palm Beach Gardens.  Also know as a Signature City, life can be described here as vibrant with lush, tropical ambiance. There's more than enough to do and endless restaurants and fine shopping to be had. I'm lucky to call this place my home...at least until I'm ready for 

my next destination, that is!!
